A Berry Happy Thanksgiving

    Did you know blueberries were served at the very first Thanksgiving? According to legend, when Europeans first arrived on this continent, Native Americans gave blueberries to the pilgrims to help them survive their first winter. Many historians believe it was part of the first Thanksgiving feast, made into what Native Americans called “Sautauthig.” One of the first blueberry baked goods, Sautauthig is a simple pudding made from blueberries, cracked corn and water.
